I've seen these little cards at the art supply store and had no idea what to do with them other than paint miniatures on them. You actually exchange them with other artists? Is that a way of collecting other artist's work without having large paintings to hang? Sounds like a good idea.

Hi Carol, Yes, Art trading cards are a huge movement. I actually got familiar with them on Ebay where they are sold and referred to as ACEOs (Art Cards, Editions and Originals). Some people make prints of their cards and sell those but I sold originals. Last night was my first "trade". They can be very small canvases to try out a composition or color scheme on, since they come together pretty quickly although I have spent a couple of hours on one before. Search on Ebay. There are some artists who put a lot of effort in and their cards sell for quite a bit... I cut my own blank cards out of 140 lb watercolor paper using a see through quilter's ruler and utility knife. It's more econonomical than buy them. They measure 2.5 x 3.5 inches and will fit into the plastic sleeves used by baseball collectors.
