Katey was one of the first portraits that I painted back in 1997 when I was getting back into painting. I painted the first picture for her grandma and her mother asked me to paint this again for her. It's encouraging to compare them and see how much I've learned since I first painted it.

Welcome to my Blog. It's something I've been thinking about doing for a while and so I decided that today's the day (carpe diem!!). It feels a little like getting on a bicycle for the first time. I'm confident that I can stay up on my bike and now I'm off to explore new territory. You are all welcome to join me. I plan on using this blog to share more about my art and myself so that you can get to know me a little better. I invite you to comment back. Otherwise, it'll just be me all alone in my basement wondering if there's anyone out there in cyberspace. ;)
