It's a snow day today! And this was Illustration Friday's topic last Friday. Just coming in under the deadline. :)

I drew this little guy last year and finally made some time to paint him in time for Halloween!

Butterfly collage with haiku

Earlier this year, I wrote a haiku about butterflies. I think it started with one of my kids doing them in school and I was feeling like I needed to start stretching my wings and encouraging myself. So six months later (?) I decided to use my haiku to embellish some art. Last month I made a trading card which sold right away on Ebay and this week I made some bigger 6 x 6 in paintings. I wrote a second haiku poem about butterflies which I'll use to make some companion pieces, but here are the first two.

Cape Cod Watercolor + Collage

I am back from spending two weeks with my family in MA inspired and ready to focus on painting and nurturing my Etsy store.

One of the weeks I spent with my sister's family on Cape Cod and we had gorgeous weather. I snapped lots of photos to use as inspiration and here is a mini landscape (2.5 x 3.5") I made yesterday. I make the collage paper I use with acrylic paint on rice paper.

Today I started two different companion collage pieces based on another ATC that I made earlier this summer and I hope to share them later this week. My problem is Artistic ADD. There are so many things swimming around in my head that ..... squirrel!

I've been playing around "practicing", trying to let my style evolve. This is one I'm happy with.
